People are so concerned about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year but they should really be more concerned about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas!
All kidding aside, it truly matters what we eat MOST of the time. That allows us to enjoy holiday favorites and such at this time of the year with none of the guilt sometimes associated with indulging.
I do most often recommend finding some great healthy alternatives when it comes to meals and even desserts. Have you had a chance to browse through my cookbooks here at WFC? Hundreds of delish, healthy recipes at your fingertips!
Eating a nutrient-dense diet MOST of the time is crucial for overall health and well-being. Nutrient-dense foods provide essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other beneficial compounds in optimal quantities relative to their calorie content. This promotes proper bodily functions, supports a robust immune system, and helps maintain healthy weight. Such a diet contributes to sustained energy levels, enhances cognitive function, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes.
Nutrient-dense foods also support optimal metabolism, aiding in the efficient utilization of nutrients for various physiological processes. Prioritizing nutrient-dense choices supports the body’s ability to repair and regenerate tissues, ensuring proper growth and development. Additionally, it helps regulate appetite and prevents overconsumption of empty-calorie foods, fostering a balanced and sustainable approach to nutrition.
