Healthy Food Does Not Have to be Boring!

When I raised my four kids, I knew nothing about nutrition and shopped according to weekly sales and coupons.  I made the typical dinners - hamburgers, fries, tacos, spaghetti, frozen chicken patties, and chili.  I loved buying cookbooks at the checkout to expand my horizons.  Some recipes were kid friendly and fast - just what I needed.

Healthy and nutritious foods are one of the most vital keys to maintaining a healthy body and mind!

But what I didn't realize is that many of the recipes add highly processed ingredients that contribute to the increase in poor health and wellness that we see all around us today.

Fast forward to today, where I've studied Holistic Nutrition and most recently, Functional Nutrition.  My kitchen has been "cleaner" for about 8 plus years.

It is just my husband and I at the dinner table now, as our kids have grown and now have families of their own.  But almost every meal, my husband tells me how delicious the food is and how he wishes that we would have eaten like this years ago.  We both feel great, never bloated like we used to, and eat foods that not only fuel us but contribute to better health.

I tell people all the time that we pay for our healthcare at the grocery store.

What do we eat?  Foods out of my four cookbooks.  Most are anti-inflammatory, taste wonderful, and are family friendly.  Incorporating whole foods with delicious seasonings and combinations offers us healthy, lean proteins, healthy fats, and an abundance of colorful vegetables and fruits.

What obstacles keep you from changing your diet in order to reduce inflammation?  Inflammation is the leading driver on most modern diseases that we see today and nutrition plays a huge part.
